Delivery Service

  • Typically all loose materials are delivered in DUMP TRUCKS, and any palletized materials are delivered on a SPIDER TRUCK.
  • Loose materials will mix on a dump truck if the quantities exceed 1 1/2 tons and 2 tons, which may necessitate an additional delivery fee when two or more types of gravel are delivered at the same time.
  • 50 lb and 3000 lb bags are available at a cost for delivery of some gravels where delivery by SPIDER TRUCK are most convenient.
  • To set up a delivery call 703-532-0169. To ensure that your delivery comes on the date of your choice, please order at least one week in advance for items that are in stock.
  • There is a set delivery fee for loads up to nine tons, or twelve pallets of most materials. The delivery fee is based on the type of truck needed and the distance to the drop off point. If more than one truck is necessary, then additional delivery fees are applicable. Note: Deliveries in alleys may require the five-ton truck with delivery charges for each five ton load.
  • Payment for delivery may be in the form of a check (payable to "Sislers Inc.") or credit card over the phone, (Master Card, Visa, Discover, American Express). All payments must be made before the day of delivery or the order will be canceled (No CODs, No Exceptions). There will be a charge for all returned checks.
  • Please make sure that the area in which you would like the merchandise dropped is clearly marked and accessible to the driver.
  • Let us know if you need your merchandise to be set (boulders). Boulders to be set must be loaded on the truck differently. There will be an additional fee for setting after the first 30 minutes.
  • If you are required to be present at the time of delivery and the driver waits more than 15 minutes he may opt to charge a waiting fee or return the merchandise to Sislers Inc., in which case you may be refunded for your merchandise but not the delivery fee. If you still wish to have the merchandise delivered, you will be charged for an additional delivery.
  • Any merchandise to be picked up for return must be easily accessible and wrapped on the pallet. You are charged a delivery fee and a 15% restocking fee for all returned merchandise that is picked up. Note: Pick up is only available for palletized materials. We do NOT pick up loose material, partial pallets of manufactured stone, or pallets of natural stone that have been picked over.

What kind of truck do I need? The kind of truck you need depends on the type of material you are getting. If you are getting a material that is palletized or comes in cubes (flagstone, fieldstone, most building stones, boulders, pavers, wall systems, bagged items, cinder blocks, etc.), then you need a spider truck. If the material is loose (gravel, sand, etc.), then you need a dump truck.

Will the trucks damage my driveway? Only on rare occasions. For dirt driveways, when the ground is exceptionally wet, and when tar driveways are very hot, trucks may damage the driveway. The decision to drive onto any surface is left up to the driver. You may be asked to sign a consent form in questionable situations.

Can you dump it in my back yard? Drivers will not usually go off pavement, though it is left up to the driver to make the final decision.

How does the Spider work? A spider is a forklift that fits onto the back of a delivery truck. It is able to unload pallets and deliver them to places a boom truck may not be able to fit (alleys or narrow driveways). The spider is able to go off pavement at the drivers discretion, though an additional fee is charged for each pallet that requires the spider to go off pavement.

Can I get my delivery at a certain time? Deliveries are made AM (between 7:00am and 12:00pm), PM (between 12:00pm and 4:00pm), and A/T (anytime). Due to traffic and other concerns, we are not able to give a specific time. Note: Deliveries to certain areas may only be available for A/T.

Do I have to be there? As long as you have given clear directions to our office personnel and the delivery site is marked and accessible, there is no need for you to be present for the delivery. Be sure to leave a number where you can be reached in case of any complications.

If I order too much can I have my merchandise picked up and returned? If the materials are stacked on pallets, and in the same condition as when they were delivered, they can be returned for an additional delivery fee plus a restocking fee. Open pallets of manufactured stone and picked over pallets of natural stone cannot be returned. We will not pick up gravel, although it can be returned if you find a way to bring it back yourself.

Can you pick up my empty pallets? No, we will not pick up your pallets. If your pallets are returnable (check for a "pallet deposit" on your receipt), you may bring them back yourself for a refund, otherwise, you must find a way to dispose of them yourself.
